Beauty Schools and most Academy’s are operating individually and more than likely do not have Approved and recognized programs. An Education credential, whether Certificate or Diploma is only Government and Industry employer recognized if issued by an Approved College or University. Choosing a valid school is tricky as sometimes it’s not clear which school is approved in your Province. A Diploma program is a combination of modules that help you build skills and knowledge that collectively lead you to earning an official credential for a specific Vocation (Career Title) of choice, such as Esthetician, Makeup Artist or Nail Technician. Such Vocational programs are required to be approved by the Government and is considered higher education therefore can only be available at Approved Colleges and Universities. A Certificate in comparison to a Diploma program is received upon completing a set of theoretical and practical lessons pertaining to a single skill, such as Manicures, Facials, or Airbrush Makeup. Certificates are widely available in the Industry, however Professionals should seek to complete Certification from an Approved College for full validation prior to adding on private workshop Certificates for learning additional techniques, for example from their favourite brand or Influencer.

For the United States and other provinces and parts of the world, while our Credentials are Industry recognized, we always recommend checking your local Ministry for additional examinations and requirements according to their specific government requirements. Upon successfully completing a Certificate Course, you will receive a printable digital Certificate. This allows you to save it and print it as needed without the worry of losing it! Upon successfully completing a Diploma program, you will receive a physical copy of an Ontario College Diploma.
